How we work
Twenty minutes, a written scope, weekly steps you can stop.
How it starts
The first call: twenty minutes
Five on your problem, five on what I would do, five on shape and rate, five on the next step. Bring one problem.
Within two business days: a written scope
One page: what I will do, what it costs, what it cannot do. Scoped work is a fixed quote; urgent or ongoing work is by the day with a cap, GST-inclusive total shown first. Or a straight "not me" and a pointer to who can.
Then weekly steps
A short written note every week. You can stop at the end of any week by telling me in writing before that week ends. You keep every account, document and mapping.
Every engagement: a short written change note and your sign-off before anything goes live, with a rollback step. I work in your test environment first.
What I commit to
- A written scope and price before any work starts: a fixed price for the health check and any scoped piece, a day rate with an agreed cap for urgent or ongoing work, and a line saying what the work cannot do. GST-inclusive total shown first. You have it within two business days of our call, or a straight "not me" on the call and a pointer to who can.
- A short written progress note every week.
- You can stop at the end of any week by telling me in writing before that week ends; you pay only for work done and third-party costs already committed.
- Nothing goes to your live ERP or your retailer feed without your written sign-off and a rollback step; I work in your test environment first.
- You create the accounts I use, in your name, and can revoke them at any time; I never hold your retailer, network or bank credentials in my own systems.
- Your data stays yours and can be exported at any time. The documents, mappings, specs and test scripts I write for you are yours once paid for; where I build with re-usable components of my own, you get a permanent licence to use them in what I built.
- The person who scopes the work does the work.
- I finish any engagement already signed. If something longer than a signed piece has to end, you get a written handover within five working days; everything lives in your own systems, so another consultant or your vendor's own onboarding can take over.
None of this is a guarantee of a business result.
What I do not do
- I do not configure or develop inside an ERP I have not worked in. One mid-market ERP's product and price engine I have run for years; on any other ERP I specify, map, test and run the change through your ERP's own partner or administrator.
- Business hours Melbourne time, next-business-day response. Incident recovery is day-rate work when it breaks, not a service level.
- Network, VAN and ERP-vendor fees are yours, paid direct. I sell no software and take no margin on it.
